Rahuram is a young and upcoming Mridanga artist, who has performed in many concerts in Sydney and Melbourne. He has also accompanied many visiting Indian artists in Sydney. He learns from the well-known Mridanga Virtuoso Sri. M Ravichandhira in Melbourne and has also learned from Mridanga Maestro Sri. Karaikudi.R.Mani in India. He had his mridanga Arangetram (solo debut) in 2003 accompanied by Sri. Balasai and Sri. Durgaprasad. Rahuram initially performed for Lingalayam only on the Muharsing (Jew’s harp) and the Gangira (also a percussion instrument) in the 2002 season, Sthree. However since 2005 Rahuram has been accompanying all the Lingalayam Dance Company productions on the Mridangam. Graduating from Medicine at University of NSW, Rahuram is also a practicing doctor.
